Extended hours appointments

As part of East Lindsey Primary Care Network (ELPCN) we offer evening and weekend appointments outside of your normal GP practice hours.

The hours are:

  • Monday to Friday – 6.30pm to 8pm
  • Saturday – 09:00 to 17:00
We also offer some early morning appointments.

To book, please contact your GP Surgery directly and the Care Navigation Team will be able to offer you an appointment. Online bookable appointments will be available shortly.

Please note: These appointments are open to all patients registered at a practice within our PCN area. The appointment may not be available at your practice should you wish for a specific day, however we endeavour to find you an appointment either with your GP practice or one close by.

Minor Injury Service (Horncastle Medical Group)

As part of East Lindsey Primary Care Network (ELPCN) Horncastle Medical Group offer a Minor Injury Service which is available to all registered patients and non- registered patients throughout Lincolnshire.

We would advise patients who require the use of this service to contact the Practice prior to arrival to minimise waiting times. Address: The Old Vicarage, Spilsby Rd, Horncastle LN9 6AL Phone: 01507 522477 Opening Hours: Monday to Friday – 8am to 6.30pm

The Types of injury the practice will see are:

  • Lacerations capable of closure by simple techniques (stripping, gluing and suturing)
  • Bruises
  • Minor dislocation of phalanges
  • Following recent injury where it is suspected stitching may be required
  • Following blows to the head where there has been no loss of consciousness
  • Minor burns or scalds
  • Foreign bodies superficially embedded in tissues
  • Mechanical falls
  • Bites and stings

However, Patients in the following categories below are NOT appropriate for treatment by the Minor Injury Service and will be signposted elsewhere or back to their own GP Surgery.

  • 999 call (unless attending crew speak directly to the doctor)
  • Any patient who cannot be discharged home after treatment or needs a dressing change
  • Any patient with airway, breathing, circulatory or neurological compromise
  • Actual or suspected overdose
  • Accidental ingestion, poisoning, fume or smoke inhalation
  • Blows to the head with loss of consciousness or extremes of age
  • Sudden collapse or fall with loss of consciousness
  • Penetrating eye injury
  • Chemical, biological or radioactive contamination injured patients
  • Full thickness burns
  • Severe burns caused by electric shock
  • Partial thickness burns over 3cm diameter or involving: Injuries to organs of special sense Injuries to the face, neck hands, feet, or genitalia
  • New or unexpected bleeding from anybody orifice if profuse
  • Foreign bodies impacted in bodily orifices which are not readily removable, especially in children
  • Foreign bodies deeply embedded in tissues
  • Trauma to hands, limbs or feet substantially affecting function
  • Deep penetrating injuries to the head, torso or abdomen, clinical judgement should be used regarding appropriateness of treatment or requirement for ongoing referral (e.g., A&E)
  • Lacerating / penetrating injuries involving nerve, artery or tendon damage
