Some people are at higher risk of serious illness, complications or even death if they catch flu, which is why the Department of Health recommends flu vaccination for them.
You might be eligible for a flu vaccination if:
- you are pregnant
- you are diabetic
- aged 65+
- you have a BMI over 40.
You might also be eligible for a flu vaccination if you have a long-term condition affecting:
- the lungs (e.g. asthma or COPD)
- the heart
- the brain or nervous system
- the kidneys
- the liver
- the spleen
- the immune system
If you have any concerns regarding a flu vaccination, or you think that you are eligible for one, please speak to someone at the surgery.
