Welcome to the Newsletter for April 2011.

In response to many of your comments, we have a new automated telephone system in use from TUESDAY 19TH APRIL to enable you to  book, cancel and check your own appointments any time, night and day.

All you need to use this is a touch tone telephone, your contact telephone number, and your date of birth..

When you telephone the surgery, select the option for the Automated booking service and then follow the simple instructions.

Simples!

Red Nose Day  18th March

We had a raffle in the reception foyer for Comic Relief, and we raised  £115.

Thank you to Milly Stanbridge, who helped her Mum, Gill, to organise this for us.

Please remember to book in for your Holiday Vaccinations in plenty of time.

Coningsby Patient Group

The AGM was held on Wednesday 13th April.

Elaine Savage retired from the chair after 5 years sterling service. Anita Pearson agreed to take on the role.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 4th October at 6.30pm ay the surgery.

NHS Prescription Charge

From 1st April, this has risen to £7.40.

The Prescription charge is a contribution to the NHS.

It is NOT a payment to the Practice.

It bears no relation to the cost of the item.

Prescriptions are Free to a patient who is:

· Under 16years old

· 16, 17 or 18 and in full time education

· 60years of age or older

· Named on a current HC2 charges certificate

· Named on a working tax credit NHS exemption certificate

Prescriptions are free for a patient who has:

· A valid cancer patient exemption certificate

· A valid maternity exemption certificate

· A valid medical exemption certificate

· A valid prescription prepayment certificate

· A valid war pension certificate

· A valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate

· Been prescribed free-of-charge contraceptives

Prescriptions are free for a patient who receives:

· Income support

· Income-based jobseekers allowance tax credit (Certain criteria apply)

· Minimum income guarantee and pension credit guarantee credit

Don’t Panic!

To avoid a rush on prescription this Bank Holiday period, please order as normal, allowing 48 working hours before collection, but bearing in mind our opening hours.

Please be patient with the girls!

They will get everything done as soon as they can!
